The Work of God

This passage is taken from John 15:1-5. It was a nice passage for me to read this morning, because I know that there are a lot of times when I get caught up in all of the responsibilities that I have. Between school, my music, church activities, and the 4 clubs I'm actively involved with, I often have a lot of different types of deadlines and things on my to do list. With all of these different directions that I'm pulled in, it's very easy to dwell on all of the things that I do and how things won't turn out correctly if I don't do them myself.

However, this devotional makes a good point-- we can't do anything on our own; God is the one in the driver's seat and we have to trust him to see that he works through us. He has called us to be students (otherwise we wouldn't be here), and his hand is on us when we write papers and do problem sets. We have to do the best we can with the gifts God has given us, but must also remember that the ultimate result is in God's hands, and that should be good enough for us.
