Happy New Year (and happy birthday to those of you who celebrated a birthday over the break). I'm finally back on campus and settled enough to be able send devotionals out again. God truly blessed me over this break, and I hope to be able to share some of the things that I've learned with you through these daily messages.
This past week I had the opportunity to participate in a short term missions trip to the South Bronx and one of the things I saw over and over was the power of God and how he can work through us, even when we feel most inadequate and unprepared. It was amazing to see all of the "coincidences" and the way that some things just seemed to come together on their own. Everything happens for a reason. Things don't just happen by themselves, but rather through the power of the Holy Spirit. That is the subject of today's devotional.
