I thought this was a good selection because it talks about the idea of a unified church. We, as christians, are the body of Christ, and as that body it's important that we do more than simply not get caught up in our differences. We have to support one another, and "carry each other's burdens" (galatians 6:2). Just as we rest our body when injured, so too must we listen to our friends when they're feeling down, so that they can rest (okay, so maybe that wasn't the greatest analogy :P). The point is that God created us to encourage and look out for one another. That's what friends are for :-) .

Mark 3:24-25 "A kingdom at war with itself will collapse. A home divided against itself is doomed." (NLT)
When Jesus was accused of using satanic powers, this was his response. It doesn't make sense for Satan to work against himself. In the same way, it doesn't make sense for the church to work against itself. But this is the case far too often. Churches are often at war with each other, divided by class, race, music, denomination, and a number of other issues.
Lord, help me to be a person of unity with others.
