Honoring God

"God doesn't desire more of our time sometimes; He desires more of our attention all the time." --John Fischer (PDL)

Believe it or not, it is possible to put God first without escaping for an extended retreat into the mountains. We honor God with our faithfulness to the things and circumstances he has blessed us with, even if it doesn't seem "spiritual". So what does that mean? Study for that exam that seems to cover a ridiculous amount of material. Prepare for that presentation for those clients, even if it's "not that big of an account". Do these things with a joyful heart, encouraging others to do the same. Without GOD, you wouldn't be in school at all. Without GOD, you wouldn't have a job to supply your needs. As this season of thanksgiving falls upon us, remember the SOURCE. Even if God never does another thing for you, he's already done so much more than you could have ever expected or deserved. He's delivered you from things both seen and unseen. If that's not something to give thanks for, I don't know what is!

Happy Turkey Day!
-AMR

"We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed, but we don't give up and quit. We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going."
(2 corinthians 2:8-9, nlt)

thanks for that. was just looking up honoring God and wondering what it means in a deeper sense. but perhaps i don't have to be that deep at all. honoring God is simply using to the fullest what He has given us...it's giving Him our all in everything we do...thanks again. and happy thanksgiving:)

I was looking up honoring God and came across your blog. I like your understanding of how to honor Him. I'm a student too, returning in my 40's, and I understand about giving our best to our studies even when it seems to be a ridiculous amount of homework and research required. It's our attitudes that shows up in what we do on a daily basis that honors Him. Thanks for reminding me. Happy Holidays.

i am reading a book by author john bevere called honor's reward and it really makes you stop and think about honoring those around you in authority over you, etc. God puts people in control whether we like them or not and we do have to honor those that He places to honor them we honor God....but as the others have stated we have to make a conscious effort to honor God daily in what we say and do...for He deserves our honor it is due Him

Nice post on honoring God. I think you are right--it's the little things that make the difference and bring honor to God. Though, the little things add up to "a life that honors God." Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
